The What...
Here’s some of what you can expect as part of the role…
- Core member of the finance leadership team, reporting to the divisional CEO.
- Financial performance reviews to provide commercial insight into the performance vs budgets and recommend actions for improvement.
- Leading a hybrid finance team based in Canada and the UK to ensure seamless finance support. The transaction processing and financial control principally resides in the UK and the business support in Canada.
- Lead the monthly P&L performance review process to ensure clear story and actions.
- Review the performance of renovations, new centres and ad-hoc initiatives against company benchmarks. Understand the commercial impact of proposed changes.
- Review the commercial accuracy of information within Capital Expenditure Requisition (CER) forms with operators. Provide support and challenge to optimise capital deployment.
- Provide finance leadership in the replacement of the legacy food and drink EPOS.
- Oversee the growth of the Striker bowling installation and parts business, including working closely with the Striker Vice President to maximise commercial opportunities. Reviewing monthly financial information, leading the Canadian based finance team and managing cash flows with the UK finance team.
- Drive the Canadian budgeting process working with the UK planning team. Working with operators across all areas of the business. Develops historical, current and potential future trend analysis.
- Mentor and develop the Financial Controller (UK based), Splitsville Junior Finance Analyst (Canada based) and Striker Divisional Accountant (Canada based).
- A development role as finance Director of a highly profitable business, revenue CAD$85m+, which expects to double in size over the next 5 years through strong investment from the UK parent company.
The Who…
The be a successful Divisional Finance Director, you’ll have:
- Post secondary degree/diploma, preferably in Business, Finance and/or Accounting.
- Certified Accountant with proven financial accounting skills.
- Experience leading a team.
- Experience of both financial accounting and commercial finance is highly desirable.
- Comfortable with all aspects of finance.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
- Highly detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects and delivery deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solving and strategic planning.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners while building strong relationships across different organizational levels.
- Excellent influencing skills and ability to demonstrate sound judgement.
- Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced work environment while managing competing priorities for a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong initiative, organization, prioritization and time management skills.
